Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies BidVision sets when you use our website and Service, and why. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.

1. What we use cookies for

BidVision only sets cookies that are strictly necessary to provide functionality you have explicitly requested — signing in, remembering your language and theme, and completing the login flow. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics), or any cross-site tracking technology. Because every cookie we set falls under the "strictly necessary" exemption in the EU ePrivacy Directive, no cookie consent banner is required — this page exists purely so you can see exactly what is set, and why.

2. Cookies we set

  • Authentication cookie (ASP.NET Core Identity) — keeps you signed in between page visits. Session, or until you sign out.
  • .AspNetCore.Culture — remembers your language preference (English or Lithuanian). 1 year.
  • .BidVision.Theme — remembers your light/dark theme choice. 1 year.
  • bv_pending_lot — temporarily remembers an auction listing you were viewing before signing in, so you can resume after login. 10 minutes.
  • Antiforgery cookie (ASP.NET Core) — protects forms and requests against cross-site request forgery. Session.
  • Google Sign-In correlation cookie — set temporarily by Google during the sign-in redirect to protect the login flow against forgery. Session (deleted once sign-in completes).

3. Cookies set by third parties

When you buy credits, you are redirected to Stripe's hosted Checkout page to complete payment. Stripe may set its own cookies on its own domain under its own privacy policy — those are outside our control. We do not embed any third-party advertising, analytics, or social-media widgets that would set cookies on bidvision.eu itself.

4. If this changes

If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this page and implement a proper consent banner before those cookies are set, as required by the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.
